Dr Chek Tien TAN
Director

    Chek Tien Tan is an Associate Professor with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and serves as the Director for the Centre for Immersification. His research centers around Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with notable contributions in interacting fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Graphics and Gamification, evidenced by open-source GitHub repositories supported by publications in leading venues like ACM CHI and SIGGRAPH. In teaching, Chek is a recipient of the university's Teaching Excellence Award and played pivotal roles in designing joint engineering and design programs with the DigiPen Institute of Technology. In the community, he Chairs the ACM Chapter on Intelligent Immersification In the Metaverse (I²M) with NVIDIA.

Dr Jeannie LEE
Deputy Director

    Jeannie Lee is currently an Associate Professor with the InfoComm Technology Cluster at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), and the Deputy Director for the Center for Immersification. Her other key appointment is Director of Programmes (InfoComm Technology). She has deep experience in both industry and academia, and previously worked within an applied research division at Qualcomm in San Diego, California on multimedia algorithms, the Android operating system source code (AOSP) by Google, and the latest wearable and mobile chipsets. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr Indriyati ATMOSUKARTO
Faculty Lead

    Dr Indri Atmosukarto is an Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology. She is currently the Deputy Cluster Director of the InfoComm Technology (ICT) cluster. Indri is a member of the SIT Data Science and AI Lab (DSAIL) and the SIT Systems Section (S3) . Prior to joining SIT in 2014, Indri was a Research Scientist at the Illinois Advanced Research Center (iARCS) (previously known as ADSC) leading the 'Semantic Analysis of Video' project. Indri holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Washington, and was a Postdoctoral Senior Fellow working at the Seattle Children's Research Institute. Indri is a Senior Member of IEEE and has been the principle investigator of several research projects in SIT. Her research interest are in computer vision, machine learning/deep learning, and medical imaging.

Dr Nisha JAIN
Faculty Member

    Nisha Jain is currently an Assistant Professor with the InfoComm Technology Cluster at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Prior to SIT, she worked as Research Fellow at National Technological University (NTU), Singapore at the Institute for Media Innovation (IMI). Her research interests include Virtual Reality, Computer Graphics and Computer Vision. She has experience in developing varied immersive experiences. She holds a M. Tech in Computer Technology and a PhD in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

Dr Kan CHEN
Faculty Member

    Kan Chen is currently an Assistant Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Infocomm Technology (ICT) Cluster. Before joining SIT, he was with Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College. Prior to that, he held various roles in Computer Graphics development and teaching, including Game Programmer in Koei Tecmo, Assistant Professor in Digipen Institute of Technology, and Research Scientist in Fraunhofer Singapore. He received a B.Comp (Honours) in Computer Science from National University of Singapore, an M.Eng, and a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality, Human-Computer Interaction, and Computer Vision.

    Leon Foo is currently a Research Engineer at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), working on the First-Mile Last-Mile (FMLM) project. He specializes in designing interactive experiences, as well as UI & UX design.

Songjia Shen

    Songjia Shen is currently a Research Engineer at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and a PhD candidate at the School of Computer Science, University of Technology Sydney. His research interests focus on educational virtual environments, particularly learning transfer between virtual reality and the real world. He is also passionate about VR gaming and gamification for computer programming education.

Meg RAJENDRAN

    Meg is a DEng candiate in SIT. She is under the AI-themed IPP programme between SIT (DSAIL) and Nvidia. Her research interests are in artificial intelligence, video analytics (Computer Vision) and human computer interaction (HCI).

Dr Chee Kwang QUAH
Professional Officer Member

    Chee Kwang QUAH is currently a lead professional officer in the Professional Officer Division at Singapore Institute of Singapore (SIT). He possesses many years of industrial and research experiences in both in the areas of computer vision, 3D human modelling, motion tracking and analysis, graphics, artificial intelligent, virtual and augmented reality. Before joining SIT, he was a principal engineer at ST Engineering. Previously he had also work at Nanyang Technological University and DSO National Laboratories, and as an invited researcher at INRIA, France. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering form Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
